Persian lime (Citrus × latifolia), also known as seedless lime, and Tahiti lime is a citrus fruit. The Persian lime is a triploid cross between key lime (Citrus × aurantiifolia) and lemon (Citrus limon). The fruit has slightly nippled ends, thick skin, is very juicy and aromatic. The flavor is very acid, special for preparations of lemonade and combined drinks and cocktails. Ideal for seasoning fish and seafood.
Persian limes are commercialized primarily in six sizes, known as 110’s, 150’s, 175’s, 200’s, 230’s and 250’s.
